Deloitte deploys AI through tools its member firms and businesses build, such as PairD in Europe, MyAssist in Australia and the Omnia audit platform, alongside bought assistants: Anthropic's Claude was made available to more than 470,000 people in Oct 2025 and Google's Gemini Enterprise to more than 25,000 by Apr 2026. Deloitte has committed more than $3 billion to generative AI through FY2030, and Global AI leader Nitin Mittal leads the push to become an AI-fueled organization by 2030, but Deloitte publishes no firm-level return on AI.

Their approach to AI

The platform
Deloitte builds AI tools per member firm and business, such as PairD in Europe and the Middle East, MyAssist in Australia, Omnia for audit and Ascend for consulting delivery, buys enterprise assistants from Anthropic and Google, and runs its own NVIDIA AI factory (Mar 2026).
The models
Anthropic's Claude is available across Deloitte's network and runs the Ascend Agentic Harness, Gemini Enterprise is available to more than 25,000 Deloitte staff (Apr 2026), PairD ran on GPT-3.5 at its Belgian launch (Feb 2024), and Zora AI runs on NVIDIA Nemotron models.
The reach
Deloitte made Claude available to more than 470,000 people in Oct 2025, Omnia's AI agents serve nearly 85,000 audit practitioners (Jun 2026) and the Claude-based Agentic Harness is deployed to 35,000 engineers, but Deloitte publishes no active-user figure.
The catch
Deloitte reports what it invests in AI, not what AI returns, and Deloitte Australia repaid part of a government fee in Oct 2025 after a report that used Azure OpenAI carried fabricated references.

Key findings

  1. Anthropic and Deloitte said on Oct 6, 2025 that Claude would be available to more than 470,000 Deloitte people across the global network, Anthropic's largest enterprise deployment to date, with a Claude Center of Excellence and a program to certify 15,000 Deloitte professionals.

  2. Deloitte restated on Sep 24, 2026 an investment of $3 billion through 2030 to modernize delivery and operations and bring new products and offerings to market, as its workforce grew to nearly 500,000, but Deloitte has published no firm-level return on its AI spending.

  3. Deloitte's generative AI assistants were built member firm by member firm: DARTbot was rolled out to nearly 18,000 U.S. audit professionals in Oct 2023, PairD to 75,000 people in Europe and the Middle East from Dec 2023, and MyAssist to Deloitte Australia's 13,000 people in Jun 2024.

  4. Deloitte's Audit & Assurance business developed, piloted or deployed more than 20 AI capabilities in Omnia in FY2026 and launched a network of AI agents in Jun 2026 for its nearly 85,000 practitioners, with agents drafting documentation and preliminary conclusions for professionals to review.

  5. Deloitte Australia repaid more than A$97,000 of an A$440,000 government contract in Oct 2025 after a welfare-system review, whose revised version disclosed use of Azure OpenAI, was found to contain a fabricated court quote and references to nonexistent research.

How they deploy

Buy the models, build the delivery platforms

Deloitte has announced no frontier model of its own. Deloitte buys enterprise access to models, Anthropic's Claude for its whole network from Oct 2025 and Google's Gemini Enterprise for more than 25,000 professionals by Apr 2026, and builds its own platforms around them: Ascend for consulting delivery, Omnia for audit, Intela for tax and Zora AI for client agents. Ranjit Bawa said in Oct 2025 that Claude is a leading choice for many clients and for Deloitte's own AI transformation.

Member firms build their own tools

Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu Limited, known as Deloitte Global, does not serve clients; its member firms are legally separate, and several built their own assistants. Deloitte's AI Institute built PairD for Europe and the Middle East in 2023, Deloitte Australia built MyAssist in 2024, and Deloitte US built DARTbot for auditors and the Scout learning assistant. Deloitte Luxembourg reported in 2025 that eBuddy, an internal GPT-based tool, supported more than 30,000 users in five European member firms. Deloitte EMEA, created by a partner vote and launched on Jun 1, 2026, plans more than €1.5 billion of incremental investment in areas such as generative AI.

An AI-fueled organization by 2030

Nitin Mittal, Deloitte Global AI leader, said in May 2025 that Deloitte is on a path to becoming an AI-fueled organization by 2030, embedding AI into its work and its services. Deloitte allocated more than $3 billion of generative AI investment through FY2030 to transform delivery and operations and launch new products (Sep 2025), and Deloitte US said in Oct 2025 that it had invested more than $1 billion in agentic and generative AI capabilities in its Ascend platform.

Many alliances, one framework

Deloitte works with most large model and platform vendors at once: Anthropic, Google Cloud, NVIDIA, OpenAI, Salesforce, ServiceNow, SAP, Oracle and Databricks among them. Deloitte describes DARTbot, PairD and the Omnia agents as governed by its Trustworthy AI framework, which Deloitte also applies in client work.

Agents and forward deployed engineers

Deloitte launched Zora AI, its first agentic AI product business, in Mar 2025 and a Global Agentic Network for client agents in May 2025, and by Apr 2026 it had a library of more than 1,000 prebuilt, industry-specific agents. Deloitte now sends forward deployed engineers into client environments with Google, Salesforce and Anthropic, became the first global system integrator to staff a Salesforce forward deployed engineering engagement in Aug 2026, and in Sep 2026 launched an Open Model Engineering practice that builds client agents on NVIDIA Nemotron open models.

Deployment model
Deloitte runs AI as a federation. Deloitte Global sets the AI program, the Trustworthy AI framework and the global alliances, such as the Oct 2025 Claude agreement announced by Ranjit Bawa, while member firms build and run their own tools and name their own AI leaders: Jim Rowan is US Head of AI, and Hayley McKelvey joined the Deloitte UK Executive as the firm's first Chief AI Officer on Jun 1, 2026, responsible for AI across client services and internal operations. Each business also runs its own AI platform: Audit & Assurance builds Omnia with internal engineering teams, consulting delivers through Ascend, and Deloitte Tax named its first chief products officer for AI-enabled offerings in Aug 2026.
Model providers
Deloitte's PairD assistant used GPT-3.5 as its base when it reached Deloitte Belgium in Feb 2024, and a Deloitte Australia report revised in 2025 disclosed use of Azure OpenAI. Deloitte said in Apr 2025 it would buy Claude licenses for training and certification, made Claude available across its network in Oct 2025, and built its Ascend Agentic Harness and secure software platform on Claude models. Gemini Enterprise was available to more than 25,000 Deloitte professionals by Apr 2026, and Google DeepMind gives Deloitte early access to frontier Gemini models. Zora AI is built on NVIDIA AI Enterprise and NVIDIA Llama Nemotron reasoning models, Deloitte said in Mar 2026 it would apply NVIDIA's Nemotron 3 models across the firm and its clients, and MyAssist gives Deloitte Australia staff a choice of models.
Data and infrastructure
Deloitte said in Oct 2023 that DARTbot runs in a dedicated, self-contained environment that does not use user input to train the model, and Deloitte Belgium said in Feb 2024 that PairD draws on Deloitte's internal knowledge in a private environment without using client data. In Mar 2026 Deloitte Consulting activated its own AI factory with NVIDIA, an NVIDIA GB300 NVL72 system and RTX PRO 6000 Blackwell servers built with HPE and Dell Technologies, to run Zora AI and Deloitte's internal generative AI assistant and to train practitioners. Omnia, Deloitte's audit platform since 2015, is a global cloud-based platform; Deloitte has not named the clouds under Omnia, PairD, MyAssist or its Claude deployment. Deloitte and Hewlett Packard Enterprise offer Zora AI for Finance on HPE Private Cloud AI, Zora AI can also run on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (Oct 2025), and the client version of MyAssist runs on a client's own infrastructure with Azure, Google or AWS models. In Aug 2026 Deloitte US bought the business of Wavicle Data Solutions to add Databricks data engineering capacity.

Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu Limited, Deloitte Global, does not serve clients, and its member firms are legally separate, so Deloitte's AI program runs at two levels. Deloitte Global, under CEO Joe Ucuzoglu, has a Global AI leader, Nitin Mittal, and a global technology and alliances leader, Ranjit Bawa, who set the AI program and the model partnerships. Member firms add their own AI leaders, such as Jim Rowan as US Head of AI and Hayley McKelvey as Chief AI Officer on the Deloitte UK Executive from Jun 1, 2026, and each business runs its own AI platform: Omnia in Audit & Assurance, Ascend in consulting and Intela in tax.

Deloitte's AI workforce sits in three places: AI and engineering practices inside each member firm's consulting business, for which Deloitte publishes no global headcount; the Global Deloitte AI Institute under Beena Ammanath, which also runs the Deloitte AI Academy and AI Incubator; and platform teams inside each business, such as the Audit & Assurance engineers who build Omnia. Deloitte had upskilled more than 300,000 people through the Deloitte AI Academy by Aug 2026 and planned to certify 15,000 professionals on Claude.

Economics & controls

Spend and ROI

Investment

Deloitte allocated more than $3 billion of generative AI investment through FY2030 to transform delivery and operations and launch new products (Sep 2025), and restated a $3 billion investment through 2030 in its FY2026 results on Sep 24, 2026. Deloitte US said in Oct 2025 it had invested more than $1 billion in agentic and generative AI capabilities in Ascend, and in Jul 2024 tied its Anthropic work to IndustryAdvantage, a $2 billion program to co-develop industry solutions with clients and alliances. Deloitte EMEA plans more than €1.5 billion of incremental investment in areas such as generative AI (Sep 2026).

Technology and learning spend

Deloitte publishes no global technology budget. Deloitte UK invested £180m in technology, including generative AI, in the year to May 31, 2026, up from £158m. Deloitte spent nearly $700 million on learning and development in FY2026 and delivered more than 23 million training hours, with reskilling focused on AI, cloud and cybersecurity, and Deloitte US funds tools such as Scout from Project 120, a $1.4 billion investment in its people.

What AI itself costs

Deloitte does not disclose what it pays for models, licenses or compute. Ranjit Bawa called the Oct 2025 Claude agreement a significant investment, Deloitte said in Apr 2025 it would buy Claude licenses for its certification program, Deloitte plans to expand Gemini Enterprise to 100,000 licenses (Apr 2026), and Deloitte has not priced the NVIDIA AI factory it activated in Mar 2026.

Reported ROI

Deloitte has published no firm-level return on AI and no business return for a named internal use case. The only quantified internal goal is a Mar 2025 target to cut expense-management costs 25% and raise finance productivity 40% with Zora AI, with no outcome reported since. Deloitte reported FY2026 revenue of $74.5 billion, up 3.8% in local currency, without separating AI's contribution.

Headcount

Deloitte's workforce grew to nearly 500,000 in FY2026 from more than 470,000 a year earlier, which Deloitte put down to hiring for client demand. Deloitte UK hired 3,500 people in FY26 and offered voluntary redundancy to fewer than 3% of its Audit & Assurance business, citing low attrition in parts of the business. Darren Graves said in Sep 2026 that as AI makes intelligence more abundant, the role of Deloitte's people will matter more, not less.

Governance and risk

Trustworthy AI framework

Deloitte describes DARTbot, PairD and the Omnia agents as governed by its Trustworthy AI framework, which embeds governance, controls and compliance through the AI lifecycle. Deloitte UK's Chief AI Officer, Hayley McKelvey, is responsible for embedding responsible AI governance across client services and internal operations (Jun 2026).

Data boundary

Deloitte said in Oct 2023 that DARTbot runs in a dedicated, self-contained environment that does not use user input to train the model. Deloitte Belgium said in Feb 2024 that PairD draws on Deloitte's internal knowledge in a private environment without using client data.

Training before access

Deloitte Belgium paired the PairD launch in Feb 2024 with mandatory training and compliance manuals, taught staff to write prompts and judge output critically, and tightened review processes for deliverables. Deloitte had upskilled more than 300,000 people through the Deloitte AI Academy by Aug 2026.

Human review of agents

Deloitte's Omnia agents produce preliminary procedures and conclusions for audit professionals to review (Jun 2026), and Bloomberg Tax reported that auditors must assess any AI-drafted documentation before it enters the work papers and remain responsible for the work. The Ascend Agentic Harness puts human and automated checkpoints between planning, building and validating code, and Zora AI includes a human feedback loop (Mar 2025).

The Australian refund

Deloitte Australia agreed in Oct 2025 to repay the final instalment of an A$440,000 review of the Department of Employment and Workplace Relations' welfare penalty system, after a University of Sydney researcher found a fabricated quote from a federal court judgment and references to nonexistent research. The revised report disclosed use of Azure OpenAI, the department said the refund came to more than A$97,000, and Deloitte said the matter had been resolved directly with the client.

Auditor independence

Deloitte's role as an auditor limits what it can sell to audit clients: the Deloitte OpenAI Technology Practice notes that independence restrictions may stop Deloitte offering some of its OpenAI services to audit clients and their affiliates.
